Mitts’ debut record More or Less, out March 27, 2026, is a collection of songs recorded in his closet under the stairs and various nooks and crannies around San Antonio, with the help of friends and collaborators Bill Baird and Dillon Ocon. It’s a collage of stories about change and loss and living through hard times. The album documents a pressure-cooker of a few years during which he became a father, lost both parents, navigated a failed relationship, got married, and had a daughter. All that life, crammed into the span of five years, is now presented here in 11 songs, featuring a Lone-Star-State-studded cast of characters.

Album opener “Baby Brother” is a warbly indie rock tune about consolation and loss. “Everything keeps happening,” he croons bitterly setting the tone for the emotional journey ahead. “Third Coast,” an indie-rock bop about nostalgia and climate change, offers a brief detour before diving into heavier personal stories about hope, despair, and loss (“Something True,” “Waiting Room” and “Bobwire”). It’s not a total downer though. There’s a faint sense of optimism throughout the record, and songs like “Mockingbird,” “$2 Bill,” and “My Enchilada” offer a sense of levity and humor. More or Less is, more or less, about holding onto memories, hope, and those you hold dear to make it through these trying times.
